Irodion is a hospitality project in Vienna Austria, developed around restaurant. The interior of IRODION is a carefully crafted spatial narrative where Greek culinary heritage is reinterpreted through a contemporary architectural lens. Designed by Boom Project for a 120 sqm restaurant in the heart of Vienna, the project balances cultural authenticity with refined modernity, creating a distinctive dining atmosphere rooted in materiality, light, and symbolism. Natural wood surfaces, soft neutral upholstery, and warm brass-toned lighting form the foundation of the interior palette, evoking a sense of Mediterranean warmth while remaining elegant and restrained. The central visual statement of the space is the sculptural ceiling installation composed of suspended copper pans — a bold and symbolic reference to the Greek kitchen. This element transforms an everyday culinary object into an expressive architectural feature, reinforcing the restaurant’s identity through design rather than decoration. Boom Project placed strong emphasis on rhythm, proportions, and visual continuity to make the relatively compact space feel generous and immersive. Reflective surfaces, amber glass pendants, and integrated greenery enrich the spatial depth, while soft lighting enhances texture and creates an intimate, welcoming ambiance. The layout encourages communal dining and social interaction, echoing the traditions of Greek hospitality, yet remains carefully structured and visually cohesive. The work combines natural wood, brass, copper with a scope focused on restaurant concept, compact planning, ceiling feature, creating a clear atmosphere for daily use, photography and long-term spatial memory.
