Buffalino is a hospitality project in Kyiv Ukraine, developed around restaurant. Buffalino is conceived as a three level restaurant where the architecture unfolds as a gradual journey through the traditions of artisanal Italian gastronomy, interpreted in a contemporary language. The design is anchored by open culinary rituals, from the wood fired pizza oven and cheese maturation room to the wine cellar, allowing craftsmanship itself to become the defining architectural element. Rather than relying on decorative excess, the interior builds its identity through tactile authenticity, combining reclaimed timber, exposed brick, lime plaster, blackened steel, terracotta and woven natural fibers into a coherent material narrative. Oversized installations of dried botanicals and handcrafted woven luminaires soften the industrial framework, creating a dialogue between rustic heritage and refined hospitality. Each floor develops its own atmosphere while remaining visually connected through a restrained palette, repeating textures and carefully orchestrated lighting. Sculptural fireplaces, olive trees and custom ceramic installations introduce recognizable Mediterranean references without resorting to literal historical imitation. Light is treated as an architectural material, revealing the depth of textures, highlighting handcrafted details and reinforcing the warmth of natural finishes throughout the day. Buffalino ultimately transforms the restaurant into an immersive architectural narrative where every floor contributes to a single story of authenticity, hospitality and timeless design. The work combines warm timber, soft upholstery, ambient lighting with a scope focused on hospitality concept, visual direction, atmosphere study, creating a clear atmosphere for daily use, photography and long-term spatial memory.
